Cyber Knife

Cyber Knife is a treatment system that provides the the application of high doses of radiation to benign and malign tumours from different angles accurate within up to a millimetre.

 

The treatment is implemented completely painless and without blood, without any cuts or anaesthesia. With this method, the damage to surrounding non-cancerous tissues is minimized, while the tumour tissue is exposed to the radiation as much as possible. When treating with the CyberKnife,first the patient is put on plastic mask, and then, he/ she is placed on a bed with electronic control, able to move in 6 directions. During the session,which lasts about an hour after the tumour was detected on a CT scan,the robot treats the tumour by irradiating it with surgical precision.
