Multiparametric MRI is known as the latest technological product used for the early diagnosis and treatment of the prostate cancer.
The second most common cancer in men after lung cancer is prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is a disease that is able to be diagnosed and treated at early stage. Early diagnosis and treatment of the disease is one of the most important matters. PSA study, biopsy methods with transrectal ultrasonography with rectal examination are not enough to detect the disease at early stage. In the patients with suspected prostate cancer, along with other studies, MRI of the prostate is performed. In this special MRI of the prostate, it is determined whether there is suspicious cancerous cell area in the prostate.
If yes, the regions with suspected cancer are marked, and then, by means of special program, are loaded into the ultrasound device. This MRI, formed as a result of the combination of numerous comprehensive images with intravenous drugs (intravenous contrast agent), in more detail shows anatomical structure of the prostate.
